Taylor Legacy Builders Scholarship
Higher education provides a deeper understanding of careers and fosters personal growth within supportive communities. Acknowledging the significant investment required, we established the Taylor Legacy Builders Scholarship to ensure aspiring students at Ouachita Parish High School have equal opportunities.
This year, the Taylor Legacy Builders Foundation will award two $1,000 scholarships—one to a male senior and one to a female senior at Ouachita Parish High School.
Note — Impact/Involvement is weighted above Academic Merit for the criteria of this scholarship.
We are looking for students who have shown efforts towards creating meaningful impacts to their local community, commitment to education and above all, passionate individuals seeking to leave a lasting legacy.
Application Period: February 1st, 2025 - May 1st, 2025
Applicants Criteria:
Ouachita Parish High School Senior (Class of 2025)
3.0 or Higher GPA
College/University Acceptance

Essay #1: Legacy Builders (300+ words)
Throughout our lives we have been helped or supported by someone other than ourselves. Recognizing that you did not endure the journey you have been set upon alone, what does it mean to YOU to be a Legacy Builder and how will you create your own legacy to do the same for someone else through your college experience and professional career?
Essay #2 (400+ words) OR Video Submission: Personal Motivation (2+ mins)
Tell us your story. What motivates you to pursue higher education at the collegiate level and how will it assist you in reaching your academic goals?

Meet 2024 Taylor Legacy Builders Scholarship Awardee Tamyra Robinson!Tamyra is a Class of 2024 graduate, with honors, of Ouachita Parish High School and highly involved community leader. A few of her involvement includes President of Queens of Tomorrow Inc., Captain of the Ouachita Parish High School Dandylions Dance Team, National Honors Society and much more. Additionally, Tamyra commitment to the Monroe, Louisiana community is strongly reflected through her 585 hours of community service all while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA!
This Fall Tamyra will be attending Spelman College to study Biochemistry with aspirations of becoming a Physician Assistant!
The Taylor Legacy Builders Foundation recognizes Tamyra’s hard work and dedication and look forward to witnessing her continual impact!

Meet 2024 Taylor Legacy Builders Scholarship Awardee Jacob Green!
Jacob is a Class of 2024 graduate, with honors, of Ouachita Parish High School and highly involved community leader. A few of Jacob’s notable involvement includes being SGA Student Body President, OPHS Tennis Athlete, Pride of Ouachita Marching Band and Drumline, and National Honors Society just to name a few. Outside of school Jacob is passionate about his involvement within his church ministry, Breakthrough Missionary Baptist Church!
This Fall Jacob will be attending Cornell University to study Economics in pursuit of careers in Investment Banking and Corporate Law.
